Comprehensive Assessment

Comprehensive Assessment is the key for effective intervention. It helps us to understand the present level of the child, his/her learning style, behavior, interaction with others and adjustment to different environments. At Learning Ladder, we conduct the assessment realizing its need and importance. It takes almost one week to complete the assessments which covers every detail of the child's abilities and deficiencies.

Assessment report is stored in our software as baseline data and is accessible to the parents on login for review or other purposes. These information also help the parents to understand the child’s current level, areas of strengths, future needs and help them to design a curriculum for their child.

Automated Reporting System

Each special child is unique with distinct capabilities and specific needs. This is generally managed by detailed assessment and Individual Education Program, or IEP. The normal practice is to develop paper-based forms and plans. Paper-based plans tend not to be comprehensive and often leave gaps. Further, teachers spend a high proportion of their time in paper work rather than spending quality time with the child.

Learning Ladder has designed and developed a unique and innovative software solution that starts with comprehensive assessment, and helps in preparing detailed Long Term Plans, Monthly plans, daily progress tracking, and detailed reporting. It also includes detailed evidence of pictures and videos of a child's progress. The basic motivation is that nothing should be missed in the endeavor to help a child grow, and the software keeps us all accountable and on top of a child's progress.

Further, all this information is made available to parents on real-time basis with innovative reporting formats so parents can stay well-informed and engaged in the child's development. It enables parents to participate in child's development and work with teachers to identify additional goals and capabilities to focus on.

Systematic working, tracking, and proper record keeping are the basics of good model in rehabilitation practices.

Guidance and Counseling

Parents have deep awareness of the challenges and issues faced by their child. However, they are often unsure of the proper interventions or therapies that can help the child. Further, the more people they talk to, the more confusion is created.

At Learning Ladder, we take great pride in partnering with parents to help the child grow. Starting with Assessment stage, we engage with parents to understand the child, his needs, issues, challenges, and identify areas of interventions suitable for the child. We design appropriate curriculum, and work with parents to select and prioritize what can be effectively done at home and what will be effectively done in the center. We do not believe in imposing our views, but work with parents to select what's best for the child.

Many times children don't respond to home-based intervention effectively but respond very well at the centre. Sometimes children exhibit disruptive behavior or psychological or behavioral issues. aggression or frustration at home. We suggest ways to handle challenges about working at home, with strategies, techniques and videos. We can also give guidance about medical intervention and reference to medical experts well-versed in special needs children.

At Learning Ladder, we aim for overall growth and development of child. Once a parent contacts Learning Ladder, we guide them according to the functioning level, age and requirement of the child. We conduct counseling session with the parents and try to know about their view points and problem faced by them. And accordingly develop a long term plan and a short term plan of action.

In the centre we allow them to be a partner in the development of their child by observing their sessions, working with the child in the centre, sending them the videos of skills which the child has mastered and supervising them in every challenge related to the child. Parents are free to visit the centre to observe their sessions remotely, give feedback in the session of the child towards modification and amendment of the program.
