Speech Therapy

Language development and speech are very important for cognitive development of the child. Age appropriate language development is a need of every child. Most children with special needs face the problems in language development and speech which hamper their communication. At Learning Ladder, we make sure and keep check on language development, making it an essential component of individualized education program.

We break down this important skill into several manageable pieces. We start with receptive language (listening comprehension) by giving inputs by different modalities including flash cards, real objects, picture books, story narration, and event narration. Our goal is to continuously increase the child's vocabulary. After a minimum level receptive vocabulary is achieved, we start training the child to express his/her needs (expressive language). We encourage the child to communicate their needs, feelings, and answers to questions through same means.

As per a child's needs, we also work on speech correction, articulation problems, tone correction, etc. We train the child to communicate in different settings: one-on-one, small group and classroom setting.
